Anyone who is mechanically inclined and has owned clocks has most likely attempted to ”fix” one with a quick adjustment and “lots” of oil.
Curiousity is great and it may be fun to tinker with mechanical mechanisms and sometimes actually get a clock to run-
BUT, to be sure it will not run very well and not for very long.
For a practicing amateur, this is fine when it’s just for fun and when a lasting fix is not implied and does not cause further damage.
As a clockmaker with over 25 years of experience on all types of mechanical (wind-up) clocks. my primary goal is not a quick fix but rather a thorough and reliable repair. I can accurately diagnose present and potential problems and make the appropriate repairs.
Repair rates are reasonable - estimates are accurate - all work is done in my workshop and is guaranteed.
Your clock will be a finely tuned machine!
TO RETAILERS: A written explanation of repairs is provided so that the retailer can explain the repair to the customer and instruct the customer on how to set it up, wind and regulate the clock.
(Despite best intentions, clocks may fail following repairs due to owner’s miss-handling. All efforts are made to eliminate workmanship as a cause of failure in these circumstances.)
